(NaturalNews) Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton continues to fall under increased scrutiny over some questionable donations and other activities surrounding her family's charitable foundation, including ties to Big Pharma vaccine pushers and the world's largest producer of genetically modified foods and seeds.
Monsanto, along with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, are just two of 181 corporations and other interests who donated to the Clinton Foundation while she was secretary of state.
According to donation records, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - which funds global vaccine distribution - has donated at least $26 million to the Clinton charity, though records appear to be incomplete so the amount could be higher.
Full of hypocrisy and questionable dealings
Monsanto, meanwhile, gave between $500,000 and $1 million. For her part, Hillary Clinton has voiced support for GMO foods in the past.
"I stand in favor of using seeds and products that have a proven track record," she said at the 2014 BIO Convention, adding that biotech professionals need to continue to try to make the case for GMO skeptics. "There is a big gap between what the facts are, and what the perceptions are."
There are a host of other questions and issues surrounding the Clinton Family Foundation and its ties to Hillary's State Department:
Russian uranium deal: According to a lengthy report by The New York Times, Russia's atomic energy agency, Rosatom, managed to acquire full interest in a Canadian firm, Uranium One, over a four-year period - a company that, at one point, owned one-fifth of all uranium in the United States. Uranium, you may recall, is the primary element necessary for the production of both nuclear power and nuclear weapons.
What's more, the Times noted, the evolution of this process - and sale - took place during a time when Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, and at a time when money - millions of dollars, in fact - were flowing into the Clinton Foundation. Bill Clinton, during this time, received his highest-ever speaking fee - $500,000 - from an entity involved in this deal.
Questions about just how "charitable" the charity really is: A recent report by Fox News, citing analysts who monitor charitable groups, found that of the $2 billion the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation raised since 2001 - $144.3 million in 2013 alone - only a small fraction of the money has actually been used to its "life-saving work."
The foundation has claimed that about 88 percent of what it takes goes towards real, live charity work, but according to the expert analysts who examine the spending habits of charities for a living, the real number is closer to 10 percent.
The case of the missing donors: As noted by Bloomberg News the foundation failed to report some 1,100 donors, most of whom were not U.S. citizens (remember, Hillary was secretary of state during much of this time - the nation's top diplomat - and countries are prone to seek favors from the U.S. that only America has the power to give).
Nothing to see here, claimed Frank Giustra, who has donated millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation and sits on its board. Oh, by the way, Hillary Clinton "helped Giustra's company secure a lucrative uranium-mining deal in Kazakhstan and in return received 'a flow of cash' to the Clinton Foundation, including previously undisclosed donations from the company's chairman totaling $2.35 million," Bloomberg News reported, citing the Times' earlier story.
Three Pinocchios: Even the reliably liberal Washington Post has chided the Clintons for not being honest regarding donations to the family foundation, during Hillary's time in the Obama State Department, rating a claim made by the foundation that Canadian law prohibits the disclosure of charitable donors "three Pinocchios" out of four for fibbing.
